Let be passed through an LTI system having impulse response . The output of the system is
ANSWER
The output is , option (A).

Standard pair. a rectangle of height on , zero elsewhere.
Multiplication property. A product in time becomes a convolution in frequency. The rectangle convolved with itself is a triangle with peak (the overlap length) at , falling to zero at . So
Scale by . for , and otherwise.
Modulation property. . These are two triangles centred at , each extending on either side of its centre. Since they do not overlap.
Evaluate at the input frequency . The second term needs , so
Phase. is real and even, so is real; here it is also non-negative, so the phase shift is zero.
Sinusoidal steady state of an LTI system. This is option (A).
KEY IDEA
A sinusoid through an LTI system comes out as the same sinusoid, scaled by and shifted by . Here has a triangular spectrum of height reaching zero at . Multiplying by moves half of that triangle to . The input at lies from the centre of one copy, so .
WATCH OUT FOR
Two mistakes are common. (1) Leaving out the in the multiplication property, or taking the triangle's peak as rather than the overlap length . Either error shifts away from and leads to option (B) or (D). (2) Forgetting the factor from the modulation property. That gives and an output of , which is option (B).
