Career Outcomes
What you'll be able to do
Qualify for M.Tech, M.E., MS-by-research and direct PhD admission in computer science at the IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs.
Pursue a funded postgraduate degree, since GATE-qualified M.Tech admits at these institutes are typically supported by a monthly assistantship stipend.
Open the door to GATE-based technical recruitment at research and R&D organisations such as BARC, ISRO, DRDO/C-DAC and BEL that hire computer science talent.
Build a research career through institute and national fellowships, using a GATE score that stays valid for three years across multiple admission and recruitment cycles.
Move into core computing roles in algorithms, operating systems, databases, networks and machine learning across academia, research labs and the software industry.
