All of the above
ANSWER
The E-R model shows the static view, option (a).
Official answer: ASource: ISRO's revised and final answer key of 16 February 2024
An entity-relationship (E-R) model describes data at a conceptual level: entities, their attributes, and the relationships among them.
This describes what the data is and how it is structured, not how it changes, so the E-R model gives a static (structural) view of the database.
A functional view concerns the processes or operations applied to data, as in data flow diagrams. An E-R diagram does not show these, so (b) is wrong.
A dynamic view concerns behaviour over time: events, state changes and transitions, as in state diagrams. An E-R diagram does not show these, so (c) is wrong.
Since only the static view is shown, 'All of the above' is also wrong. The answer is (a).
KEY IDEA
An E-R model captures structure: entities, attributes and relationships. It is a static view. Processes (functional view) and behaviour over time (dynamic view) are modelled with other diagrams.
WATCH OUT FOR
Choosing 'All of the above' because the model sounds comprehensive. The E-R model says nothing about operations or state changes.
