ANSWER
The ideal window is 32768 bytes, option (d).
Official answer: DSource: ISRO's final answer key of 15 May 2026
To keep a link fully busy, the sender must have unacknowledged data in flight equal to the bandwidth-delay product (BDP): .
The question gives a single latency figure, , so it is taken as the delay the window must cover (the round-trip time, the time before the first acknowledgement returns).
Bits in flight: , since and dividing by gives .
Convert to bytes: , which is .
So the ideal window is bytes, option (d). A window of bytes would be twice what is needed, and or bytes would leave the link idle for part of each round trip.
KEY IDEA
The window that keeps a link fully used equals the bandwidth-delay product: the amount of data the link can carry during one delay period, converted from bits to bytes.
WATCH OUT FOR
Forgetting to divide the bits by 8 and answering 262144, or doubling the delay when the question already gives the figure to use. Also mixing up ms and s, which changes the result by a factor of 1000.
